Casa do Vilarelho is located in the region where the Chapeleiro is produced, this Vinho Verde wine is made from the grapes Loureiro, Azal and Arinto.
In the beginning the family only practised tradicional farming but after restructuring the family farmhouse in 2008 they decided to implement the first vineyard respecting the morphology and organic properties of the land. The excellent solar exposure allows the obtaining of good maturations of grapes. These conditions and the practice of sustained viticulture allows to create a high quality wine. It is not the objective of the producer large quantities of wine, rather on the contrary, micro productions with maximum area of vineyard of 1.5 hectares. Winemaking techniques used are the latest in technical and technological terms and the team is composed by highly skilled winemakers. The objective is to get advantage of this unique terroir bathed by the River Tâmega. This is a project created to reserve the rural heritage and the great motor is the family passion for vineyards and wine. Finally, the name “Hatter” pays homage to their grandfather.
