A Centenária is the expression of a plot of vineyard with 130 years old and with great character. This is what we might call 'Grand Cru', a wine that the producer decided to bottle separately because it has a unique identity. The wine tasting takes us to travel back in time to discover the aromas and flavours of the foothills of Serra da Estrela in Dão, just as it was at the end of the 19th century.
Wine with a pure nose, unique, with a great identity, complex, mark of terroir and of the time. Granite wrapped in fresh red fruit, white cherry, sensations of aromatic herbs, flowers and pinewood. Great depth, fresh and tasty mouth, silky tannins, fine and soft. The endless mineral end.

Winemaking | The winemaking philosophy is focused on expressing the terroir of Serra da Estrela. As such, no oenological products were used apart from very low doses of sulphur dioxide. Alcoholic fermentation took place naturally with indigenous yeasts in a vat. Little extraction was sought, working by "infusion" in search of the elegance and finesse characteristic of the region. The fermentation temperature was regulated with bags of ice and the cold of the mountain nights. The wine then went into used 600-litre barrels, where it underwent malolactic fermentation until the following spring and aged for 18 months. Bottling took place in July 2020. |
