Quinta do Rol is a centennial family property located in the region of Lourinhã, 60 km north of Lisbon and 7 km from the Atlantic Ocean.

With about 25 hectares of vineyards, it combines secular knowledge and tradition with the most recent techniques in viticulture, focused exclusively on quality excellence.

Here, the grapes find exceptional conditions for their development and expression They result from favourable characteristics, such as proximity to the sea, temperate climate, clay-limestone soils, exposure and relief.

How they work
As a result of the quality demand, the harvest is manual and in small 15 kg boxes.

The oenological work is minimalist and respectful, benefiting from the "time" factor.

Something that translates into wine products with a unique and marked personality. Wines with elegance, complexity and longevity, based on freshness, minerality and salinity, typical characteristics of the region.

It was this "terroir" that established the Lourinhã region as a producer of Aguardentes (Brandy) with Denomination of Origin (DOC).

It is part of the restricted lot of the only three DOC demarcated regions in the world exclusively for the production of brandies, together with the renowned regions of Cognac and Armagnac.

Quinta do Rol is currently the largest custodian of this product; it is the largest producer of grapes and brandy and owns the only approved distillery in the region.

The uniqueness of its terroir endows Quinta do Rol with the ability to produce Liqueur Wines, Sparkling Wines, and Still Wines (Red, Rosé and White) from some of the finest world grape varieties, extremely rare in Portugal, such as Pinot Noir, Pinot Grigio, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc and famous national varieties, such as Arinto and Alvarinho.
