This wine is produced with the typical grape varieties of the Douro Region, Viosinho, Rabigato and Códega de Larinho. It has a light citrus color and clear appearance, very fresh and fruity aroma, in the mouth presents a attractive minerality, prevailing the freshness sustained by a good natural acidity.

D. João I graced João Gomes with the lands of Lubazim, in the upper Douro, for his deeds at the Battle of Aljubarrota in 1385; One of his daughters came to marry with the grandson of the Meirinho-Mor de El-Rei, Gonçalo Vaz de Castro.
Quinta de Lubazim remained as belonging to the Castros until today, which means that remained in the same family for 23 generations.
The grapes that gave rise to these wines come from their vineyards, which has different solar exposure.
It is one of the oldest property of the Douro Superior located on the right bank of the Douro River, and in the depression between the Serra da Lousa and the summit of the Bulfata at about 100 meters of altitude. It has an area of 90 ha, 20 of which are occupied with new vineyards (between 5-15 years) and with older vineyards (over 40 years old).
The grape varieties include Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Tinta Amarela, Alicante Bouchet, Syrah, Tinta Roriz and more than 42 other varieties registered in Port Wine Institute (IVDP).
