Intense colour, with a deep ruby hue. On the nose, it is dominated by aromas of ripe red fruit and candied wild berries, enriched by well-integrated notes from barrel ageing. It displays a balsamic profile, with hints of cigar box and dark chocolate, in perfect harmony with the fruit.
On the palate, it reveals a classic structure, with mature, well-integrated tannins that contribute to a broad and enveloping texture. The balanced acidity enhances the wine’s sense of place, originating from the north-facing schist slopes in the transition zone between the Baixo and Cima Corgo. A long, balanced and persistent finish.

| Winemaking | Following close monitoring of the ripening cycle through both physico-chemical and sensory analyses, the ideal harvest date for each individual plot is determined. The grapes are transported in 20 kg boxes and, upon arrival at the winery, undergo a rigorous selection process. They are then destemmed and transferred to stainless-steel fermentation vats with temperature control, where a pre-fermentation maceration of 48 hours takes place at temperatures below 15 °C. Alcoholic fermentation follows, under controlled temperature conditions, with a total maceration period of around 10 days. During fermentation, several pump-overs and délestages are carried out to achieve a balanced extraction. At the end of alcoholic fermentation, the wine undergoes malolactic fermentation during ageing in 225L French oak barrels. This maturation period lasts for approximately 14 months, with the wine’s evolution being periodically assessed to determine the precise duration. After ageing, the final blend is assembled, followed by filtration and bottling. |
