Elegant and expressive on the nose, with notes of stone fruit such as white peach, Rocha pear and yellow apple, wrapped in subtle lactic nuances and delicate buttery hints. On the palate, it is fresh and well-balanced, with crisp fruit, an unctuous texture and a velvety touch. It shows good depth, slight texture and a long, harmonious finish.

Quinta Vale do Cesto was born from a deep connection between family, land and tradition. With roots spanning three generations, the estate began in 1987 in a region renowned for the authenticity and elegance of the great wines of the Dão.
Located in Oliveira do Hospital, within the Alva sub-region, the property includes century-old vineyards that preserve the memory of the past while producing wines of distinctive character. In 2014, a new chapter of investment began with the renovation and expansion of the vineyards, followed by the creation of the commercial company in 2016, strengthening the ambition to showcase the potential of this terroir to the world.
Today, the estate comprises around 8 hectares of vineyards divided between two main areas: Quinta Vale do Cesto, where the winery is located, and Quinta de Santo António, approximately 10 km away. Alongside the old vines, new plantings were added while preserving the classic Dão grape varieties, celebrated for their elegance, freshness and aromatic expression.
The predominantly granitic soils, naturally poor and well-drained, together with altitudes between 470 and 550 metres and the microclimatic influence of Serra da Estrela, create ideal conditions for balanced, fresh and food-friendly wines.
Today, Quinta Vale do Cesto honours its heritage through several labels — including Quinta Vale do Cesto, Alva Magna, Muros Vadios and Serra D’Alva — combining tradition, dedication and innovation in every bottle. Here, making wine means preserving a legacy while continuing to dare to dream.
