Casa de Cello is a family business dedicated to winemaking in their estates for four generations.

It was in the 80s that one of the owners, João Pedro Araujo, began to professionalise the Casa de Cello. The vineyard structure was reorganised to implement the best oenological and viticultural technologies to express the Casa de Cello terroirs.

From the very beginning, it took a different path from that of the Vinho Verde, refusing, for example, to introduce CO2 into the wine, which was the style of the Vinho Verde at the time, or to accept the settlement defined for the Amarante sub-region without first studying the behaviour of the grape varieties in their terroir. It also contradicted the conventional wisdom that Vinho Verde could only be drunk young, showing that it could age like any other wine with character.

Quinta da Vegia
Located in the Dão region, near the village of Penalva de Castelo, it currently has 20 hectares of vineyards. The vineyard has been planted with a careful selection of grape varieties - Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Tinta Amarela, Tinto Cão, Alfrocheiro, Encruzado and Bical.

Quinta de Sanjoanne
Located in the heart of Entre-Douro and Minho region, near Amarante, it underwent a complete restructuring of its vineyards. Currently, 14 hectares of vineyards are managed, with Arinto, Alvarinho, Malvazia Fina, Loureiro, Avesso and Trajadura grape varieties.

The environmental and landscape concerns of Casa de Cello make your estates attractive places for visitors.
