Cercial

Cercial is an indigenous Portuguese grape variety grown in several wine regions, especially in the Bairrada region. The name of this caste has caused a lot of confusion with other varieties of similar names. It is different from Cerceal Branco and Sercial. The only thing these varieties have in common is a high level of acidity. It is a variety that requires care because it rots easily. It is a caste that is aromatically delicate, elegant, with vibrant acidity and a great ageing capacity. It is suitable for ageing in oak barrels and acquires honeycomb aromas with ageing.
