Petit Verdot

From Bordeaux the name alludes to one of its main characteristics: late maturing. When young, Petit Verdot wines can take banana aromas, more mature, take a strong and violet coloration. Petit Verdot wines have a lot of structure and tannins and tend to a very deep ruby colour and his aromas are black fruits, spices and floral. In Portugal, is cultivated predominantly in the Alentejo region. It goes well in rich and fat dishes. Some suggestions: cured cheeses, beef, pork, veal and lamb.
