Moscatel Galego Branco

The Muscatel grapevine family must be the oldest known to humankind that has survived to the present day. It is assumed that it came from the Orient with the Phoenicians, Greeks, and even the Romans, and thus spread across the whole of Europe (Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, etc). Is a very aromatic grape, with floral, citrus and grapes aromas. When matured it reaches high levels of sugar and is ideal for fortified wines. Moscatel has numerous variants all over the world being the Moscatel Galego Branco (Muscat Blanc to Petits Grains), the type found in the Douro region, recognized worldwide as the most elegant and fragrant of the family. This grape can give rise to different styles of wines. Varietal dry wines with citrus, floral and spice aromas. Sparklings are sweeter, while the dessert wines are produced as natural sweet wines.
