Pinot Noir

It is a grape variety indigenous to the French region of Burgundy. It is the source of some of the most iconic wines. It is a delicate and sensitive variety but produces one of the most elegant and appreciated wines. The aromas are intense and complex and evolved very well over the years. When young, they have aromas of cherry, strawberry, raspberry, redcurrant and sometimes cinnamon and black pepper. As they develop, the fresh fruit gives way to jammy notes and earthy aromas described as forest floor, mushroom, or truffle appear. With evolution also appear animal aromas of leather.
