Chardonnay

Originally from the Burgundy wine region in eastern France, it is the most widely cultivated white grape in the world. It is considered the queen of white grapes. It is a very versatile variety with a good yield that adapts to any climate. Its characteristics allow the production of a wide range of white wines as well as elegant and delicate sparkling wines. According to DNA analysis, it is a hybrid between Gouais Blanc and Pinot Noir. It is known for its elegance and the diversity of its aromas. Planted in a warm climate, it produces rich wines with ripe fruit aromas and tropical flavours. In colder climates, it produces lively mineral wines and expresses apple, lemon, pear and grapefruit aromas, as well earthy tastes. In temperate climates, it produces fleshy and more flexible wines. Its aromas are mainly white fruit, such as citrus and peach. It is one of the few white wines that accepts well ageing in oak with different notes such as cream, vanilla or butter.
