Padeiro
Padeiro or Padeiro de Basto is a Portuguese grape variety planted throughout the Vinho Verde region except for Monção and the southern districts. Regionally it is also known as "Tinto Matias", "Tinto-Cão" and even "D. Pedro" in Braga district. It produces ruby red to garnet coloured wines with delicate and floral aromas reminiscent of red berries. In the mouth, they are balanced and harmonious. It is used with other grapes to produce red wines or to produce rosés.
