Doçal

This autochthonous Portuguese grape variety is grown in the Vinho Verde region, more precisely in the sub-regions of Monção, Lima and Braga. It produces wines with a ruby to garnet colour, a little aromatic, full-bodied but does not give a very quality wine. Regionally it is also known as "Folhal" and "Verdelho Doce", as "Doçal Miúdo" and "Borralho" in Viana do Castelo and as "Espadeiro Doce" and "Doçal Aragão" in Monção.
