A light ruby colored Touriga Nacional is revealed. Aromas of ripe fruit, spices, light vanilla and cocoa. In the mouth it leaves a greedy, spicy and very fresh touch, the acidity is remarkable transmitting balsamic notes. The tannins are elegant, where the barrel does not predominate. It is little concentrated, drinking harmoniously and providing some longevity.

Beira Interior is the highest Portuguese wine region. Here, the quality, identity, natural beauty and unmissable historic villages create a unique territory. This where the wines are great because the altitude gives them a unique personality, forged in the extremes of rigorous heat and the burning cold. In each cycle, the vine balances without letting overcome by any of them. Here we see the solidity of this granite territory: courageous and strong, light and flexible. Elegance, diversity and uniqueness are the fascinations of the Beira Interior region.

The Casa Agrícola Cova da Raposa, owned by the producer João Gonçalves, is located in Pala, in the municipality of Pinhel. It is the most mountainous region in Portugal, with the highest mountain ranges, which allows us to find vineyards at more than 700 meters.

The climate is continental, with greater annual and daily thermal amplitudes (cool nights in summer is vital in maturation and harvest). Climate is harsh, with snow and negative temperature and hot and dry summers. "Cova da Raposa" designation (The Fox's Grave) is inspired by the name of the place where most of the exploration located.

Granite soils are constant, but we also find shale and some sandy soils. There are many grape varieties. In whites Síria, Fonte Cal, Malvasia and Arinto stands out, while in reds the main varieties are Rufete, Bastardo, Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz, Trincadeira. These conditions allow us to find aromatic whites and minerals and expressive reds, marked by freshness and delicacy.
