A bright ruby colour with medium intensity and a slight viscosity. The aroma, of moderate intensity, is characterised by fresh red fruits such as raspberries and strawberries, alongside black fruits like cherries and blackberries, and stone fruits like plums. The wood is very well integrated, complementing spicy notes of vanilla, black pepper, and chocolate. There are also hints of mint, with a touch of limestone that is distinctive to the Bairrada region.
On the palate, it is a dry wine with present yet finely polished tannins of medium intensity. The well-defined acidity prompts salivation, while the alcohol is moderate. The wine is elegant, showcasing fresh red fruit, yet what truly stands out is the mineral sensation of limestone and the remarkable purity on the finish.

Winemaking | Fermentation took place in stainless steel for approximately 12 days at a controlled temperature of 26°C. The Syrah underwent malolactic fermentation in new French oak barrels (500 litres), where it aged for 6 months. The Baga remained in the masses for a week after fermentation, in order to further extract the structural and aromatic compounds, followed by 6 months in stainless steel to preserve the fruit. Due to the year's lower ripeness levels, the Baga was subjected to regular bâtonnage in order to give the wine greater volume and complexity, compensating for the grapes' less concentrated structure. |
