César Márquez La Salvación Godello 2020

La Salvación is a godello, harvested from centenary strains that has grown between strains of mencía. Its name perfectly describes the desire to recover the centennial godello grapes that are forgotten in the vineyards after the harvest of the mencía.
It presents a floral profile, aromas of white fruit, almond and a hint of honey. In the mouth it is very complex, delicate and balanced, finishing long and with great freshness.

| Soil | La Salvación 2020 comes, for the first time, from a single plot of Arganza, a municipality located in the North of the region, with more altitude (680m) and therefore freshness. The vineyard, almost one hectare with 110 years old, constitutes the largest vineyard of old Godello in Bierzo. |
| Winemaking | The harvesting of the plot was in the first week of September. Manual selection, destemming and pressing of the grapes to leave the liquid decanting for 24 hours before entering the barrels, where it will ferment. Unlike previous vintages, no maceration is carried out before pressing. It ferments in barrels, without batonage, temperature control or added yeasts. Bottles: 3215 |

César Marquez has his roots in the Bierzo region. He decided to start his promising career as a vigneron after working for seven years alongside his uncle, Raúl Perz, in the Castro Ventosa winery to show his Burgundian identity and style, producing high-quality wines. He carries the knowledge of a family tradition in wine production and wine culture. His heritage is respect for the relationship between nature and vine and viticulture and oenology. Its wines reflect the identity of the Bierzo, particularly of Valtuille. Most vineyards are old vines planted in soils dominated by slate and clay. Their wines ferment spontaneously in wooden vats.
