12,40 €

Nobody’s Hero Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc is a bright, fresh, fruit driven wine in an easily recognizable Marlborough style, made in the Framingham way. Wine for those who just want to be themselves.
Bright aromatics; grapefruit, sweet herbs and nettle. Distinctive yellow citrus on the palate, with red capsicum and a splash of more tropical fruit. The wine is dry, with a mouth-watering line of fine acid. Easy to drink on its own, or to match with food.

The History
The original vineyard was established in 1981, by Wellingtonian engineer Rex Brooke-Taylor who took the name ‘Framingham’ from his ancestral hometown near Norwich, England.

Before they brought their winemaking on-site and under their control in 1997, they used other wineries’ facilities to produce their initial releases. And the first wine they released to the world under the Framingham name was a 1994 Riesling.

In past years they’ve been known to produce Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, Pinotage, Merlot, Merlot-Malbec, Chenin Blanc, and Methode Champenoise. But currently, they’re a family-owned Sogrape company, audited and accredited as 100% sustainable by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand in 2009, with ranges including Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir, Viognier, and New Zealand's Montepulciano Rosato.

Now, producing all their wine from their new winery on Conders Bend Road, built-in 1997 in the middle of their 17-hectare estate. They made their first-ever batch onsite in 1998. The rest, they say, is history.

The History of “our” people
Many people over the years have enabled them to push boundaries and operate 'Out of the Mainstream' at Framingham. It is thanks to these individuals that they have stuck to making wine by their own rules.

They make wines by their own rules
They love aromatic styled wines to accompany food. And over the years, their Framingham range has grown with a strong tradition of winemaking for balance, texture, and complexity.

By combining small batches of fruit from different parts of the vineyard, they build depth of flavour and texture. And by using experimental techniques and blending options, they take risks. And the result? Rich, expressive wines they love to drink.

Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Pinot Noir and Montepulciano all grow on their Estate. But small batches mean limited quantities. So when Framingham wines are gone, they’re gone.
