Wine with an intense garnet colour, aromas of austere profile with notes of flint, chalk dust, mint nuances and fresh vegetable, with some tobacco notes. In the mouth, it presents intense tannins, but in perfect harmony, fresh and well-integrated acidity, excellent volume and complexity, long finish and great balance.

Soil The vines used for this wine are in a very special terroir. They are located at 500 meters of altitude, in a plateau that develops of a unique form, in full Mountain of São Mamede.
Winemaking Pre-fermentative cold maceration for 48 hours followed by fermentation at a controlled temperature in small stainless steel vats. Followed by post-fermentative maceration for 90 days.
Aging 12 months in French oak barrels.

Temperature 16ºC - 18ºC
Harmonizations Stewed pork cheeks, oven-roasted lamb and wild boar bean stew.

Viúva Le Cocq e Filhos, Lda, was the company created by the heirs of João José Le Cocq, founder of Quinta do Prado in Castelo de Vide. The Prado was, in 1850, a model farm in Portugal.
The epidemics observed in the second half of the XIXth century led to the creation of nurseries of vines in the Prado. It is thought that this was the way of introducing some French grape varieties in Portugal.
The Porto da Bouga Vinhos, Lda is heir to a historical heritage in the wine area in Portugal. The Estate is on the southern slope of the Serra de São Mamede and Quinta do Prado, on the north slope.
