With a beautiful violet colour of good concentration, it presents on the nose an austere aromatic profile full of character, complemented by more complex notes of spices and mint. In the mouth it is rich in concentrated black fruit flavours and has a firm structure, with well present tannins and a refreshing acidity. Medium to long finish of remarkable elegance.

Luis Duarte Vinhos is a family business run by winemaker Luis Duarte and his wife, Dora Simões. It is based at the Monte do Carrapatelo estate, located in the wine sub-region of Reguengos de Monsaraz, in the Alentejo region of southern Portugal.

With 12 hectares of vineyards, the estate enjoys a continental Mediterranean climate, characterised by very hot and dry summers, but with a marked daily temperature range, which encourages the development of aromas. Winters are cold and rigorous and it is in this season of the year that most of the rainfall is concentrated. The soils are predominantly loamy, ensuring good water retention, essential for the vines during the summer months. All viticulture is governed by sustainable practices, with cultural interventions carefully adapted to each grape variety and each plot. The vines were planted between 2001 and 2002.
