As a consequence, several types of fortified wine have been developed throughout history and their popularity has kept them in production to this day. Among them Port Wine, Madeira Wine, Carcavelos, Moscatel de Setúbal, Sherry, Marsala, Commandaria, Mistelle, Vins Doux Naturels (VDN), and Vermouth.
