Leading this project are the two brothers and winemakers Joana and António Maçanita. The creation of Maçanita Vinhos was a dream long desired by the brothers. To give life to a wine with character and its own personality. In 2011, the project of the Maçanita brothers in the Douro begins.
Based on wines of great quality and oenological richness, so typical of the Douro, the Maçanita project brings an innovative and young methodology to the production of quality wines.

Located in the Douro region, sub-region of Cima Corgo near Pinhão heart of the Douro region, are the vineyard of Henrique and Sebastião. From these vineyards we crop our Touriga Nacional, Tinta Roriz and Sousão. Also in the Cima Corgo we have old vines, with more them 90 years old, a diverse portfolio of grapes, same ho are rare in Douro. We use simultaneously different terroir that bring great complexity in the aroma and charisma of the Maçanita wines. In the Baixo Corgo we found the Margarida vineyard, from these vine we crop our white grapes, Viosinho, Malvasia Fina, Gouveio and Códega do Larinho.
Brother and sister walked together the vineyards to control the operations that define the quality and health of the grapes. The pruning and selective harvest are very important to obtain high quality grapes.
Henrique´s vineyard
Located 10 min from the heart Douro, the Henrique’s vineyard is the pure expression of the Douro Superior in Cima Corgo. With schist soils and very warm temperatures, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz gain great concentration and flavor.
Sebastião vineyard
In the Village of Castedo, the vineyards of Maçanita Tinto, are composed of two grapes, Touriga Nacional and Tinta Roriz. The vineyard is located in a fresh area of the Douro Valley with a solar exposure to South, leading to a good maturation of the grapes with big freshness.
Margarida's vineyard
In the peaceful village of Poiares, the vineyards of the Maçanita White rest at 600 meters altitude in a hill facing north. The freshness reigns in this land and its grapes have high acidity.
