Adega Rama is a new project in Bairrada, with its first vinification in 2011 and the beginning of its commercial activity in July 2012. It arises from the joint motivation of Jorge Rama and the winemaker António Selas, which led the Rama family to take the construction initiative of the winery in strong line with wine tourism.

Jorge Rama
Jorge Rama, born in the municipality of Mealhada, inherited from his father, Joaquim Rama, a taste for vineyards and wine. In the activities of olive oil production and production and industrial classification of eggs, in 2002 he took over the vineyards, the vinification of his grapes, and the bottling, with the Rama family brand, in his installation, but insufficient for his aspirations. and ambition as an entrepreneur by nature.

António Selas
António Selas is from the municipality of Mealhada. From a very early age, he tasted the environment of the Bairrada cellars. Thus, he graduated in Agronomy in the Food Industries specialty in 1981 and as an Oenologist, after having interned and worked at the Vitivinícola station in Anadia until 1984. From then on, he started working as a consultant in cellars, cooperatives, and producers (especially in Bairrada region) later, also responsible for viticulture, he followed and accompanies some farms.

Rama
Since 1998, the winemaker António Selas has advised the Rama family, in the vineyard and in the cellar, having restructured part of the vineyard and refined the preparation of sparkling wines. Currently, the area of ​​explored vineyard covers about 15 hectares, based on heavily calcareous, somewhat stony clay-limestone and sandy loam soils, in two distinct viticultural patches. The white varieties are Chardonnay, Bical, Arinto, and Sauvignon Blanc; the red varieties are Baga, Touriga Nacional, Merlot, Syrah, Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Tinta Roriz.

Selas
From the work in viticulture and enology, he was developing, from the will put into practice in 1993, he led him to plant his vineyard and in 1996 to bottle his first Sparkling Wine Bairrada, under the "Milheiro Selas" brand, the name of his three children. The evolution and the will to consolidate the project as a winegrower, joined by his son António, in 2005, led to the area of ​​vines today being 14.5 hectares. The white varieties are Chardonnay, Arinto, Fernão Pires and Cerceal; the red varieties are Touriga Nacional, Baga, Syrah, Merlot, and Pinot Noir.

Rama & Selas
The desire to do better in each other's wine activity, led Jorge Rama and António Selas to carry out a joint project that would allow their wines, bringing together synergies of different knowledge and work skills, to face the market.

Adega Rama focused on the vinification of grapes for the production of base wines for sparkling white, rosé, and red wines and Bairrada wines. The production is 60-65% red wines and 40-35% white and rosé wines. Here the grapes of Jorge Rama and António Selas are vinified, giving rise to wines for the common brand "Rama & Selas" - RS "and for the brands of each of the producers" Rama "and" Milheiro Selas ".

The wines and sparkling wines from the brands of each of the producers, "Rama" and "Milheiro Selas", are intended to be wines that honor the brands, the work of the producers, and the technical capacity of Adega Rama, meeting the most demanding oenophiles.
